After Seishun Binta came up in the discussion of Chinamini on Sahadou, I tried harder to find a DL site. I was very pleased with myself when I located it but then I realized that Nitrogen had posted the same source a year ago.

I am thinking of asking Sayo to do a chapter -- not necessarily starting with Book One, in fact perhaps the first chapter of Book Six, the last book. It's not raunchy enough to be normal Sahadou material but it's pretty much borderline hentai in spots. Nitrogen, I will quote you below, would you be interested in sharing this project? I feel like that for the English speaking manga community, a manga doesn't exist until Sayo translates it, and I'm interested in exploring Watashiya's oeuvre.

I'll see if I can help you find Seishun Binta. It's utterly hilarious but I only have the manga itself and not anything on my hard disk, but I might be able to find it somewhere. If I wanted to start a donor project for something (I'm thinking of Yumi Nakata's Chu-bra ちゅーぶら！！), how would I go about that?

You should DL and have a look at the raws. Binta is a male high school student, there are 2 girls who like him, one with big boobs one with small. Since it's Watashiya, all sorts of tangled unlikely funny things happen, and the plot is quite unpredictable and sexy.

FWIW Binta also means "slap" and there is a picture of a handprint in the name on the cover.

Yes, I would be extremely interested, but I do not know how to go about this. I live in Europe, I do not have PayPal - nor do I want to sign up - so I do not know how I can pay either you or Sayo. I suppose I could always mail an envelope with a $20 bill or something in it next time I am in the US (in October; was there last week) to either you or him (though I think Sayo is in Canada). I do not know what else to do.

I think the funniest chapter is the one with the AV girl called Momomi-chan. It's Volume 4, chapter 27. Check it out. Then again, ALL of Seishun Binta is very funny. It made me laugh for many days even if I understood almost nothing. I think it is equally as funny as KnJ, though it's a somewhat different kind of humour.

Ugetsu gave a very brief description of what Seishun Binta is about. Basically there are three main characters: Binta (male) Ami (female, G-cup, tall, sexy) and Momoka (female, A-cup, shy, timid). Ami and Binta have been friends all their lives and Ami sees Binta as her boyfriend and is in love with him. This is a great source of frustration for Binta's friends because they all have a thing for Ami. However, Binta loves Momoka because - believe it or not - she is flat-chested and he dislikes big boobs (i.e. Ami's boobs). So the manga basically follows this trio and all the weird things that happen to them. It's ribaldry through and through.

Wow that just sounds hilarious, it sounds even more outrageous than KnJ. Let me guess, the big boobed girl is really young and the flat one is more grown up?

There is a lot of strange symbolism in the manga. For example, when Ami finally has a sexual awakening, it shows her having ecstatic sex with some kind of giant walrus. People critical of the series make a big deal of that, as if it "really" happened. And you know how a sushi roll looks before it is cut up, a long cylinder with the black Nori on the outside? Well, there are frames with a girl holding a roll with the end in her mouth, representing, oh, I don't know, guess what?

Nitrogen, I have been comfortable with PayPal for years (it's essential for buying things on eBay) but Sayo uses a different site. If you were to pick a chapter for Sayo to do what would it be? The one you mentioned (Chap 27?). I don't like Chapter 1, the obvious place to start, Binta is having sex with Ami (I think) and is constantly angry about something. Not attractive. I think he's making the point about his aversion to the big boobs. Maybe just a couple of chapters in Vol 4 and we'll see if anyone else takes an interest.

Wow, it looks like KW is a real-life Hiyori Tamura. In that she is a female erocomi mangaka. I'll have to check it out.

I think it's all just symbolic -- Chapter 30 -- it's like she's riding a big fat horse, except the animal is lying on its back and looking really happy...

And I think it's the blonde teacher, mostly.
