I am not a very social person to begin with, but I cannot imagine what few friends I have being willing to overlook my lolicon collection or the KnJ stuff I own. As it stands, nobody I know is aware of it, though I have a friend who likes Ichigo Mashimaro and Gunslinger Girl so much that he can't help gushing. He may be open to KnJ but the idea of breaching the subject is a daunting one.

My girlfriend knows I read manga and watch anime, and I've told her that I've been following this one. She's cool with it in spite of the controversial subject matter. Unlike some people, she doesn't have a rock up her ass. You're right though. Not all people have the maturity or understanding like this to see things objectively.

This is the only "controversial" manga I read, I don't consider it lolicon but I'm not gonna risk anyone else I know to share this view...this is America after all.
So yeah I don't tell people and I don't plan to. That's partially why I'm on this forum, since I can't discuss it with anyone else. And great mangas like this need to be discussed.

--.-- I can`t say that I understant the kind of troubles and punishments in the USA for the people who read or posses lolicon, mainly because I live in Latino America, tierra de las libertades, were you can buy hentai in every corner, Anime fansubed in the City Center, and read it in the bus without care of anything. I know that there`s a risk for you guys, and you can even go to jail (Ok, maybe not) but If we keep our secret RIGTH HERE, there`ll be no problem, besides, the internet is free......unless the CIA or some hacker spoil it LOL. XD

@Dark Samus, people DO get thrown in jail for having stuff not much different from KnJ. But enforcement is rather patchy. I could Google up the name of a recent guy who was jailed but it's too depressing and you guys can do your own Googling.
My wife knows about my mangas and shrugs it off. Generally I think it's sort of a guilty pleasure for most of us, not something we brag about.

Unfortunately, people have been out on a witchhunt for pedophiles for quite some time here in the US. People who look at things like lolicon, or even admit to finding underage girls attractive get looked at with major suspicion. I do usually tell people about this series though, at least if they are interested in manga an anime. I've never really considered fanservice to be a form of lolicon. Of course, I wouldn't tell everyone else about the series. I'm already considered weird as-is for being an adult that watches cartoons. I don't need to exacerbate the situation.

I could not care less about what people might think. My mom thinks it's weird "watching cartoons on my age" but I just shrug. Just bounces off me.
My wife knows I read KnJ (since everything I could get my paws on is in my bookcase in the bedroom together with some Jock Sturges, David Hamilton and other books about (pre)teen nudity and photography. KnJ is the only 'loli' manga I read but I do have a huge collection of loli doujins. Thank goodness the Netherlands is still a country where one can look at a young girl without having to explain himself. Some countries, especially america has been too crazy about loli stuff recently. People are convicted for watching child porn when they downloaded some loli stuff. Judge reasoned even non-existing drawn children do have rights and freedom of body or some bullshit crap-for-brains like that. They might want to put a stop to all the rape porn created within their borders (about 80% of all rape porn available) first. Oh well, I'm having no problems at all showing my KnJ figurines (at my computer desk) either. Don't like them? Don't look

Yes, I had "Angels of Time" by him but I lend it to someone and never got it back. He still claims he gave it back to me. Cost $110 too. No longer a friend of mine. Lovely book, I still have no idea what problem people could have with naked bodies (be it little girls, boys, grown up males or females or even elderly people - everyone is born naked, shame is like prayer, just indoctrination.
Have to say I like Davind Hamilton's "25 years of an artist" better, not only nudes but amazing stills and landscapes too.
