I'm exhausted, I reported myself sick just to stay in with my friend house and together, we`ve been looking for more info about the recent dissaster in Japan. Not only about Seiyuus or Mangakas, but about places too. One of the reactors damaged just blown up, and in stores, all the basic suplies are sold out, and the rumors are starting to run like gunpowder...The anthena in Tokyo Tower was damaged, and two buildings in Sapporo just went down.
And.........I'm crying while I write this....the photos.....those poor people......

Oh i'm glad that some of the mangakas are okay including K.W but i'm still not satisfied until i hear everyone of them are OK. I going through the same pain as you Samus, i couldn't eat and sleep the whole weekend as i was mainly seeing the outcome of Japan. I watch the news through NHK( a lot more informative than the stupid CNN, HLN, or other American news.) I also don't believe in God nor am i a religious person either, i only do and act whatever i want and follow my own philosophy. i only wish and hope for the people of Japan to be all right. Id rather be there and help them in anyway i can then watch them suffer....

I think we're all a bit emotional right now. Eri Kitamura and Watashiya-sama are obviously a big concern for those here, and we are happy they are well, but please send your prayers and wishes with those who are lost or unknown. Let's hope the casualties are minimal.

We send our best wishes to not just the lost or unknown but to EVERYONE who is fortunate to survive. The last thing we'd want is more people dying during this disaster...

Um, just a note, but I can somewhat be defined as religious, so I hope you'll accept my perspective below as something worth reading with some discretion. You're entitled to disagree with what I say here, and I can respect that, since we all have different points-of-view. This is my way expressing my concern for Japan with a somewhat different perspective on things. Please excuse me for having religious talk here, and so on. Yet I still think I maintained relevance to the topic at hand. Also, I don't intend to seem cold or heartless when I make certain statements (such as anything to do with total statistics), though they are intended merely as a form of information to be acknowledged. It does not in any way comfort me in terms of the losses that have happened, but it at least gives me something to acknowledge and recognize.
Particularly, I have faith in God, and also have noted God's existence to be the most scientifically plausible explanation for the existence of life on planet Earth. On another note, yes, it is very heartbreaking that Japan has undergone natural disasters. As for denying God's existence on the basis of the existence of evil and natural disasters, that is a rather irrational claim. Irrelevant, yes. However, the purpose of the universe quite frankly relies on the existence of a set of predictable laws of physics and the presence of evil and free will. (Although you can't predict what or when things will happen, you are able to be assured that there are things that actually cannot happen unless the laws of physics are suspended in order to allow such an event to happen.) Natural disasters happen. Essentially, they are the by-products of how the universe works in order for life to actually exist. Earthquakes are caused by the shifting of tectonic plates, which shift in order to prevent too much erosion and to bring up new land. Tsunamis are caused by immense forces interrupting a flow of water, thus triggering an alternative flow of water. Earthquakes are a form of this, and thus cause tsunamis. Without natural disasters, the human race and all other complex life forms on this planet cannot exist, because those natural disasters are the by-products of the natural processes undergone by the Earth and its interactions with the environment around it. Eh, irrelevant and detached in regards to the concern for the loss of lives, yes, but a vital piece of information for understanding how we are able to live at all. Agreed, though, that it is still an emotional and terrifying thing that these natural disasters happen, and that numerous lives are lost. Statistically insignificant when compared to the total surviving members of the human race, though each and every life is essentially considered valuable and is hence treasured, a fact present from the side of our nature that seeks to have human lives be present and the expression of sadness and fear and worry for those that are lost or could be lost. (Statistically: Losses in natural causes = thousands per year, total losses = some million per year, total population = exceeding six-point-ninety-one billion, and growing exponentially, with some decline in growth over time. Losses are still very terrifying, sad, and traumatic. Statistics cannot account for emotional value.) I find it quite sad, though, to find that my friends here lack belief in the existence of God. (Although, you probably aren't too worried about it, and might let me know that I shouldn't be worried about it.) Contrary to the opinion that such belief is irrational, it is less irrational than some people would think. There is also significant scientific evidence that such beliefs increase the lifespan and maintain the health of the individual and promote a positive outlook on life, which improves odds for success and allows for endurance in times that would otherwise be too overwhelming to handle. In essence, "hope" being one driving force to keep on living. On another note, the problem with religion in and of itself is how people, even in religion, can be liars and be deceitful, and also awful ignorant of scientific fact (such as the age of the earth), and so on, including hypocritical. Christianity, though, would claim that such people are not real Christians, and instead are liars and false prophets. On another note, some people can be even more ignorant, as to refuse to let someone get medical treatment for an illness that is readily treatable or even curable by modern technology, simply due to their supposed faith. In which case, I find that to be quite foolish. Yes, I'd say God heals, but I'd also say that we have to work for ourselves rather than being lazy fools entirely reliant on God to the point where we won't even lift a finger to get something done. There's the principle of "do the work, and you'll get something out of it, even when you don't expect it, and even if it's not right away." Although the focus isn't on doing the deeds to earn a reward, but to do deeds out of inspiration. Back to relevance: I do pray for the safety and the well-being of people in Japan. Having faith and hope, something to believe in, is far better than to feel absolutely certain that devastation is upon you. I think they could use that set of faith and hope too. Granted, false hope is something to look out for, yet I believe my faith is warranted and rational. And I'm very aware that Japan is a well-prepared nation in regard to earthquakes and tsunamis, yet there are still some complications that raise my concern. Bottomline: the most we can do is hope for the best and lend our support.

Thank you for your thougths Mega. I know, I was a little emotional back then....but everyone in my family are atheist, and to tell you the truth, many things have happened in my family, of course, if there is a God somewhere, I don't blame him, but.....pray don't help.......my grandfather know it, my mother know it, my brother know it, my cousin know it.........and I know it. I respect your ideas, but I can't change my own now.

I respect yours and 10MMs ethical views. I wouldn't catagorize myself with any definition, i just state my views and accept them. Miracles have happen in our lifetimes that cant be explained. Perhaps God does exists, i don't know but i don't truly believe the words of man as they are all decieteful and misleading. I guess in a way morals are the reason we were bestowed with it to decide if we should help others in need. But i choose my actions, my thoughts are full of mystery, and i don't expect anything from anyone.
