I disagree with the notion that the idea is not so bad as the act. I think stoner's main point was all about the idea, you shouldn't say the act of child rape is bad but the idea (as in a loli comic) isn't. After all, it doesn't matter that nobody is hurt in a comic, the idea of a grown man violently raping a little girl is wrong.
The thing about "nobody getting hurt" though is that the author of lolicon can craft the story any way they see fit. Doing things like having the girl enjoy it, be the one to come on to the man, etc, makes it seem okay because nobody's being hurt, but this is greatly distanced from reality.

I think there may have been a miscommunication.
When I say 'it's okay' I don't mean the idea of rape is morally neutral just because it's on paper. When a child is raped, even in comics, we recognize that the depicted act would be vile if it was real. My point was that the act of creating that imagery is not morally equatable to the actual act. The existence of loli rape in a comic doesn't mean the comic is automatically 'evil.' How I interpreted Stoner's words was 'if you don't like loli rape irl you shouldn't approve of it being in anime/manga/whatever.' Which I wholeheartedly disagree with. If I misinterpreted then I'm sorry and my bad.

With movies, the general purpose is to appeal to the audience's tastes, and these violent movies can indeed get very disturbing, but it seems to be more intended to play with our degree of sanity we can take. (Though the law does limit how violent things can get, if the sanity and appetite of the viewers are at stake.) Plus, violence and other contents in movies are often used to show that these things are wrong and must be stopped, to tug on our 'heart strings' so to speak, so there's more complexity to the issue of movies than people take into account. That still doesn't justify the existence of pornography, though, which I dislike. (If this is necroposting, I apologize.) Moving on, well, controversy will always exist. If you can't stop the Japanese from hunting wales, why not instead try to run some private protection and breeding programs to help increase the population of wales as they're endangered, where they'll be kept privately safe and allowed to multiply, rather than trying to stop them from continuing to hunt wales? Why not also see if Japan can help in the efforts of such breeding programs so that their 'hunting' will do less damage to the overall population? And with the lolicon issue, it's usually about a taste in art or style. Generally, there are loli and shota characters in any and nearly every anime medium, whether intended as a fetish or as just another character. Though oft-times people do get rather carried away with their fetish in terms of 'art'. In some ways it disturbs me, though in other ways it appeals to me. Moving on... I believe people are entitled to their own opinion and are to stick to it, and even voice it, try to say that 'certain things are wrong' and so forth, but absolutely forcing them to change isn't going to do any good and likely will escalate issues, rather than help matters. A more passive method tends to be surprisingly more effective in some ways. On another note, I somewhat agree with Susano's point above. Though Dac is right in that just because a work has such content, doesn't mean it lacks merit. (In fact, there is fiction that plays on the terrors of what these events would be in real life in an effort to motivate people to try and stop it from happening and/or not do it themselves. The irony is that these movies wouldn't get criticized for such content, yet they'd all still hate seeing anything with this content and try to destroy it contrary to having seen the movie and enjoying how it tugged their heartstrings.)

And well, uuuh, yeah, thanks. It's from a screensaver from an eroge visual novel company known as "SkyFish." (The website had this and a few other screensavers as downloadable. Still, I found this on other places, and it listed this as coming from a "Tsubasa Tamago", whatever that would be.) Yours, however, gets bonus points because you actually drew yours yourself, and that you did a Metroid and Kodomo no Jikan joke all in one. Plus, you jokingly inserted the word "Loli" crossed out. Adds an appeal of a sense of humor, though a mild taste of perversion... I've gotta go, uuuh, think now. Clear my head, and get back to my schoolwork. XD
