New to this forum, I wanted to throw this one out...
I've been able to find some of the real world locations in Kodomo no Jikan through a Japanese website and Mapion (think Japanese Mapquest). I've been able to find the locations with Google Maps with Street View (way cool!) Is anyone interested in virtually walking around in Rin's neighborhood?

First off, the locations are near the Musashiseki station in Tokyo.
Now, you tell me what other anime used the same locations. The corner where the torii gates? Go to this website to get oriented: http://www.rinku.zaq.ne.jp/p_v/kojika.html This website has the backgrounds from KnJ and the real world location. I've found the torii gate corner, the corner where they turn around (two pics down), the playground, the Hey You! store, the railroad crossing, and the house that Rin and her mother is walking in front of, when they picked up Reiji at the "Futatsubashi" station. (Episode 6- Omoide) I found that one my mistake, I was wandering around in Street View, and realized the house I was in front of was the same one.

Try this address: 2丁目31 7関町北 or enter this: 35.726726,139.574127.
Go into Street View and rotate towards the southwest. Torii gates!

Yes exactly i've seen those streets in mangas. Is this the only manga you read because then that would explain why you keep saying this location is the only one you've seen and besides even in American comic books a lot of the superheros locations are in New York and Los Angeles, their streets you'll automatically know right away mainly the buildings.

Nah, this isn't the only manga I've read, I've been reading manga since the late '80s. I even had a subscription to Shonen Sunday for three years. Imagine getting a 300 page phone book every for over 180 weeks.
Now if you could give me a manga that has the same location as Kodomo no Jikan, I'd be interested. Or are you confusing actual locations for the ubiquitous "xxx school building"? Now this ain't Broadway in New York, or Sunset in Hollywood. This is Nishitokyo, a pretty out of the way place for a manga. I'd like to know what other manga is located near the Musashiseki station.
