Oops. -_- Because of that new picture, I had a feeling I went wrong somewhere, so after a little digging, I found (sorry, I can't link directly, but it's way toward the bottom) that "Both novels [KnJ and Hitohira] have original stories created under the supervision of the creators."
So that "due to KW's complete supervision, the characters are the same as in the original story..." was actually supposed to be more like "The world and characters are the same; in an original story supervised by Watashiya Kaworu, it depicts third grader Kokonoe Rin and her forbidden love with her new teacher, Aoki Daisuke!!" (Grr, why don't the Japanese use semicolons? X() And once again, grammar thwarts me. In that EARL.BOX link, I'm not sure what the "お話の方もお話は違えども展開の方向性には大きな違いはないので特に目新たらしさもないですし " line means. It has something to do with the story and being different (and/or not being different), and there apparently being no particular novelty. What I'm seeing is this: -ohanashi = story -no kata?/gata?/hou? [mo] = ??? (not sure in this context) -chigaedomo = to be different -tenkai = development; unfolding -houkousei = course of action; direction -[ni wa] ooki na chigai wa nai = there are no big differences [between] ("chigai wa nai" can apparently also mean "undoubtedly"/"no doubt"/"certain[ly]," but I don't know if that meaning can be paired with "ookii"/"ooki na," and Google isn't really being helpful) -no de = since; because -toku ni = in particular; especially -meatarashisa = novelty -mo nai = there isn't Aa mo~, where have the fluent Japanese speakers gotten to? D: ----------------------- NEWISH I didn't want to triple post. ._.; Anyway, I found a better version (from here) of that picture from the other post. Again, spoilers. I'm not going to try the whole page, but I caught something about Aoki losing consciousness and hearing a little voice say "I love you... Sensei," then with his eyes closed, he drifts off to sleep. I'm not sure who's speaking the last line, but there's some reassurance ("daijoubu"), then something about his fever seeming lower than when [someone; darn lack of pronouns] called last night. And before that, something about "It doesn't matter. Now, here, the mermaid and I are embracing each other. At the bottom of the blue sea. Just the two of us. As if sinking, as if floating, while drifting." :O And "Do mermaids live in the mountains?"/"Does the mermaid live in the mountains?" O_o | |

I recieved it last week and the extra artwork is nice. I really hope there will be a translation as I of course can't read a word of it. Would love to know the story but I doubt very much it will interfere with the original story as it's still being told.
