OK, I hope this is "the thread" and not just "the boys' thread"!!

I have no earthly idea of what is going to happen next. Maybe that first grade teacher episode? I should peek at Watashiya's log and see if she has any hints.

Well, one of the recent photos on Watashiya's blog shows what looks like a flashback to back with Rin's female teacher. I imagine that this might be part of the next issue. Also, I think that Shirai and Aoki are going to have a serious discussion.

I was tempted to start a KnJ "Chapter 63: No icky boys" thread, but nah, we can have one thread, as long as it at least doesn't stray off to soccer... All I have to say is that we'll see what happens next. I think Shirai may say something, but I'm wondering why she was even near Kokonoe's house to see Aoki leaving it.
At this time, although Aoki cares very much about Rin, I wouldn't say that he is "in love" with Rin. I think Aoki wants to get things in order; getting rid of the co-dependency issues that Rin and Reiji have, and maybe by that time, Rin would be old enough to make a decision if she is in love with Aoki to actually want to be with him a few years from now.
I still think this is leading up to a big multi-chapter confrontation. You sorta see it now. Houin blurted out she loves Aoki, Oyajima confesses (I love that term, I wish I could've done that in high school) to Shirai. Even Reiji is wondering about Mimi. Well, poor Kuro will be left twisting in the wind, I'm afraid...

Ah! Books Sanseido (at Mitsuwa) called to say my KnJ tankoubons 1-7 and KnJ Fan Book are in! Yay, I'm excited to have the real books. Next, I think I'll order some K-On! CDs.

By the way, Shinobu, when you mentioned what you were ordering and about what it cost, I was surprised that the prices were so low. The special editions with DVD go for $50 on eBay, as does Anime no Himitsu. Sounded like you were paying a lot less? I'm near a Mitsuya and now I may have to make the trip and check out Sanseido as well.

I still think there hasn't been enough bonding time with Aoki and Rin, I mean they're living together for crying out loud, how come she hasn't snuck into his room again or something. Meanwhile Reiji seems to be getting more accustomed to Aoki's presence and doesn't really hate him anymore. I don't know what's gonna happen with Shirai spotting Aoki but we'll see in a couple days.

What I do know is they need to address the "Reiji was 13 years younger than my mom" thing, it was three chapters ago and really important but they just left it hanging because Mimi rang the doorbell. If Aoki learns more about that, maybe he will be more inclined to love Rin romantically. To be honest, I don't think Reiji has shown any actual attraction to Mimi, there's just nothing there at the moment. On the other hand Mimi is clearly beginning to get more comfortable talking to Reiji, I think things with them can move forward once that reaches fruition.

As for Houin, well she's always failed to be straightforward with her feelings and this is a manga so of course Aoki's not gonna notice, I don't see her confessing anytime soon but who knows? When I think about it, they don't make it clear if Shirai is actually attracted to Oyajima or not. When I look at those scenes where Oyajima sees her a child, it makes me wonder if perhaps Shirai views Oyajima as a fatherly figure, kind of like how Aki said she sought out Roku because her own father was lacking. Plus there's the fact that she asks Oyajima if he wants to sleep with her, but in a confused way, which suggests that she doesn't necessarily want to sleep with him, or that she doesn't fully understand the concept or dating.

Ugh I wish these two days would pass already...

Aoki is still restrained that Rin is 11 years (or is it 12 now) old. No matter how "adult" she may act, she is still a fifth grader! No way on this planet (and he knows that) can they have a romantic relationship.

Very cute Caramelldansen gif.....ah...sorry, I´ve been looking for a new job lattely, I left the last one, It was killing me, and in the other hand, I´ve started preparing my next move here in the Forum. First of all, I have to paint the new figurine and post it here, second, I have to post too a pic of Rin wearing the garmets of Rikku (Thief) in FFX-2, and, little by little, keep going with what I have in mind. Thanks to the great Onion that we are just a few days away for the next chapters, and I do think that the main plot will surprise us, if not the next issue, it will be very soon. The relationships between the characters are starting to take shape, Houin has joined them now, although she don´t had enough valor, but there still time, and I hope that she find someone else, because Aoki´s heart is falling in Rin´s hands, she is quite convinced that Aoki is the love of her life (at first it was just a game, but now, she is very,very sure about that, and NOT thanks to that photo) and Reiji and Mimi are bound to be thogeter, but only time will give us a answer.

KnJ has made it a running theme to get a close introspective on people dealing with social issues. They've dealt with child molestation, the personal anguish of parental neglect (with three different characters in varying degrees), the personal conflicts of a person who is learning about relationships late in her life, and other such things. The one elephant in the room that this series hasn't really tackled is lolicon itself... a person who is in love with someone underage. Aoki is very much the best candidate for the topic, with his already excessively-close relationship with Kokonoe.

This would also be one of the best points to start injecting this topic into the plot. Since we're coming up to the end of the 5th grade, Aoki suddenly developing romantic feelings for her might give him reason to put her in a separate class from himself.
