See, the thing is, I don't necessarily see that. While there have been plenty of dubious scenes, many of them are almost always initiated by Rin. The reason why I didn't like this edit was that that reaction of Aoki's was a pretty... non-paternal observation. The new revised one could more easily be thought of in the sense of him trying to merely take care of her like a paternal figure, which is the "conclusion" that he came to earlier in the series (that the nature of his feelings towards Kokonoe was like a father).
Whether or not Aoki's right, I thought his thing about the tongue taste was one of the largest direct evidences that his thoughts weren't completely "pure." So seeing that go disappointed me. I'm well aware that there are other points in the series where the ambiguity pops up, but like I said, that - in my opinion - was probably one of the biggest.
